Chapter Meeting of Native Plant Society of Texas in Clear Lake

This month's chapter meeting will featuer Andy Newman, a project manager and restoration ecologist at Resource Environmental Solutions. His talk, titled “Water, Wind, and Fire: How Abiotic Factors Shape Local Plant Communities,” will cover how geology and earth processes shape local plant communities. It's aimed at getting participants to start asking themselves why plants occur where they do. Prairies, flatwoods, and bottomland systems typical of the Western Gulf Coastal Plain will be covered during the meeting. This is a FREE event, and both Native Plant Society members and non-members are welcome. Come along to meet like-minded people, and learn something new!

Date: Monday, August 13
Time: 6:30-8:30 p.m.
