HSH Scholar Series: Sustainability and Refugee Urban Farmers in Houston: The Case of Plant It Forward

The College of Human Sciences and Humanitites' (HSH) Scholar Series is a series of monthly faculty-led presentations on a range of topics related to faculty-led research within HSH. Each presentation will take place at Hawk's Overlook in Neumann Library.

Drs. Dawit Woldu and Christine Kovic, both of whom are anthropologists, and Dr. Femi Ayadi, a health administration professor, will lead the March presentation. Together, they work with migrant farmers from Congo in Houston who have a lot of farming experience. They will share the case of urban sustainable farming by presenting the work they did with these farmers and how they transfer these existing skills to set root in their new homes in Houston.
