Hispanic Heritage Month: Using Art for Social Justice, with Jesse Rodriguez

Join the Latinx and Latin American Studies Program in celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month! In line with our theme "Using Art for Social Justice," we will have a talk by local artist Jesse Rodriguez. Rodriguez is a member of a collective who have negotiated with the city of Houston a Latinx Research and Art Center to be housed in the East End.

For his talk, Rodriguez will provide a history of the East End, the Chicano Arts Renaissance, his gallery "Magnolia Grown," and discuss the city of Houston Latinx arts initiatives.
